I write this merely as an exercise. I'm not sure what I want to write about today but I am conscious that if I don't write, my skills will again fall by the way-side and it'll be months once more before I get back on here, so, for better or worse, here I am.
Tis a pleasant day outside. My car's temperature gauge tells me its 31 degrees outside, so you can see I am not in Europe. I am in Melbourne, coping again through a very hot summer. Living in a country where we have such a dichotomy in our weather, you can't help but shake your head in disbelief if the extremes have not affected you personally.
People up in northern NSW and Queensland are again losing their homes and property to flooding. Some have lost their lives (10 at last count) and I'm sure it won't end there.
Down here in the southern and eastern states we are coping with bush fires yet again.
What I will never understand is that the majority of these local fires have been deliberately lit. I believe firebugs lighting fires get their jollies by the creation of fire. Do they ever understand they they might very well be setting the pathway to killing someone or some people...do they ever understand the agonising death they may very well cause for poor trapped innocent animals and do they ever understand what it would be like to lose your home, property and just "things" because of someones innate desire to create fire???
There is no rhyme or reason to such doings...fire caused by lightening is one thing but deliberately lit fires are yet another and if caught, those perpetrators should be made to directly and in person compensate those people that suffer loss.
We have all heard by now that there is to be a federal election in September of this year.
I'm sure that whenever an election is called it won't suit some and it will suit others. I am under the impression that many football people have raised personal objections to the date already, but...so be it. A few short minutes of their time on the day then its all done.
One party or the other will be celebrating. There will be a lot of mud-slinging between now and then. I am already over the sites that political parties have on line where they post activities and dates only to have trolls offer objectionable nasty racist and sexist and hair-colour prejudiced posts. There is so much bigotry and racism in the world now days. I suspect it's probably always been there but people seem to have less hang-ups about demonstrating their views regardless of who why and where.
It all makes me sad that people only see past their own noses and sometimes even then they cannot see that far either.
I guess I will just have to continue to try and make a small difference in my own personal life and remain impartial to the nasties of the world.
Well, that is my day for what it's worth.
Am off now to celebrate my mother's 89th. birthday....bloody hell, that means I will be 59 soon!
Bye for now my friends.
